Welcome to Scenic Tours,

I'm Brent Le Page owner and operator - a true Kiwi, born and bred. In the past when I went on tours in New Zealand and around the world, there were excursions that stood out from the rest. They were tours that not only had great itineraries, but also had enthusiastic and informative tour guides. Those guides seemed to enjoy the places we visited as much as the paying passengers. It's tours like these which gave me the inspiration to become a guide.

My aim is to show tourists the scenic parts of New Zealand that I love and am proud of. I want you to experience the real New Zealand people and culture, not just workers in a souvenir shop. By the time you leave our country, you will know and remember the true New Zealand. You will appreciate our food, our customs, our sense of humour and you will have a great experience in the paradise that we live in.

New Zealand, North Island

Active volcanoes, island sanctuaries and history top the list when visiting New Zealand’s North Island.

From the far north where New Zealand’s political history began, journey through landscapes that blend magnificent coast, sprawling farmlands and geothermal wonders. Maori culture is rich and ever-present in many parts of the North Island.

New Zealand History

With a patchwork history of Māori, European, Pacific Island and Asian cultures, New Zealand has become a melting-pot population - but one with some uniting features that make it unique in the world.

Today, of the 4.4 million New Zealanders (informally known as Kiwis), approximately 69% are of European descent, 14.6% are indigenous Māori, 9.2% Asian and 6.9% non-Māori Pacific Islanders.

Geographically, over three-quarters of the population live in the North Island, with one-third of the total population living in Auckland. The other main cities of Wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton are where the majority of the remaining Kiwis dwell.
